Texas vs. Baylor. Weekend baseball series

Tied 5-5 going to the bottom of the 5th.

Thru 5 complete we are tied at 5 each.

Tole has come in and done a great job of righting the pitching for us.

I can only go by the radio announcers, so they are having a hard time with the home plate ump calls of balls and strikes. I refuse to pay ESPN+ for their streaming service. @Joeywa what are your thoughts on the balls and strikes so far in the series?

Now let's hope that Pierce doesn't overuse Tole. Onto to bottom of the 6th.

This game 2 is not starting out as pitching duel. Both teams had/have sent at least 8 guys and Baylor has batted around and now leads 5-4.

Hurley goes only 2/3 of the 1st before being pulled for Tole.

The umps are definitely making both teams and coaches mad at them.

Yea, both teams have issued 5 walks each, I wondered if blue was squeezing both teams.

Texas leads 9-5 going to the bottom of the 8th.

Burke comes in after Tole gets the 1st out in the 6th, but Burke comes in to get us to the bottom of the 8th.

Burke gets 2 outs, but left 2 on. Zane Morehouse has come on with Texas leading 9-5.

Morehouse comes in gets the strikeout.

Geez, Pierce finally pulls Morehouse in the 9th. He ISN'T the closer for the team. He has given up 2 runs. Texas now leads 9-7.

For the third time Horns need better bull pen management! And maybe better selection of DH's.

Really bad start by Charlie Hurley who had been solid so far this year. 

Morehouse has been too shakey too often in the closer role, but I'm not sure we have someone better. Pierce and Woody Williams will have to make that call.

There is not a true closer right now. Morehouse is not proving to be the answer. While it’s easy to point fingers at the coaching staff, (and they’re not above some criticism,) at some point it’s up to the kid with the ball on the mound to show up and not walk multiple batters. 9 runs on the board and a 4-run leaded headed B9 should be more than enough cushion for a team and pitcher to close it out. The last two nights, the late bullpen has floundered, and that needs to corrected ASAP.

Sthele starts today. Wonder why he didn't start yesterday.  His line for today though is 4 2/3 innings 2 runs, 0 hits, 8 WALKS, 2 strikeouts.  

Whitehead comes in to get the final out of the 5th.  He is having issues in the 6th. Shocker!

Baylor now leads 5-3 after 6 complete
