I didn't mean to start a new thread (ok, so I did), but is anyone else nervous or concerned about this game on Thursday night?  I think the coaches will have this team prepared for what to expect, but this group of players makes me nervous.  This is the same group that went into Kansas and freaking lost.  It's also the same group that got shut out in Ames 2 years ago.  Not to mention that Texas is actually favored in this game.  This game makes me nervous for the remainder of the season.  I want to believe in the coaches, but they're not the ones suiting up to play the game.

Ok, two things I never thought I would type just happened.  Texas lost to Kansas and I'm concerned about Iowa State.  Wow, have we really dropped that far?

If Texas' defense continues to perform and compete like they did versus USC I think Texas will start to win the type of games they 'should win' consistently.  To answer your question I am concerned about Iowa State because I don't know if the performance against USC was the exception or the new rule.

Let's go glass half full and say Texas' defense has turned the corner.

Texas 24

Iowa State 9

Not worried at all.

The defense has been awesome for 2 weeks.  The season opener was not a direct reflection of this team.  Lots of teams had issues week 1.   Shane will start and throw for 300+ and Warren will get 150+

We beat Iowa State by 20+

I love tour confidence DMAC.  I'm a die hard, orange blooded Longhorn, but I'm treading gingerly right now with my confidence.  I've thought multiple times this team had turned the corner only to see them make 4 right turns and end up  back in the same spot.

I wasn't to worried till I checked out there last few games the other night. Every game offense put up 40+ and took a good Iowa team (who took penn to the wire) into OT. There no slouch. This will be a win but a good win. ISU will come to play and not be a push over. They 2 are comin off a bye I do believe.

Until all of the players recruited by previous coaching staffs are gone I'm afraid the team will have a lingering softness, sense of entitlement, and a feeling that they will find a way to lose. Not all of them, but enough to be a cause for concern. Just my 2 cents. So yes, I'm worried about this game.

I am with Dmac here. It took several years, but I finally realized that my confidence level going in has no effect whatever on the outcome of the game. Iowa St. is a good team but I believe we are starting to arrive.
