Over the last few months, it appears we are total amateurs at coaching changes. I guess thats what happens when you haven't made a coaching change in 16 years. When we do this again in three years, we should be more prepared!

Everything that's been done since Patterson was hired has been behind the scenes and no one outside of the immediate staff has had a clue. No insider, no blogger nor anyone else. Patterson seems to have plugged the leaks and that's the way it should be.

Hell no. I want nothing to do with Watson. But I promise that will be what Strong says when he's introducing him and trying to fit his hire into what he said at his introductory press conference.

I know nothing, but doesn't it look eerily similar to last week. We have a long shot Morris (Saban), a nfl guy Shanahan (harbaugh), a big 12 guy Yurich(Briles) and a UofL guy Watson(Strong). We know what happened last week. .. Oh yeah, a recently Sucessful guy Herman ( mora) who isn't going anywhere....

Man I would love for anything you or JS write to actually come to fruition in some capacity.

Most of the coaching search talk is never going to be confirm by the coaches because the coaches don't have to. It's all by lawyers. The agent for Herman and UT lawyers are the ones talking to each other. Herman speaks through his agent. So when you hear a coach say "I never spoke with X school," he is right. His agent did it for him. That's why he hires an agent.

I think strong still has someone up his sleeve people aren't discussing. He's been Clear all week multiple times he wanted Texas ties with the hire

i get that there's some time concerns with making coaching hires--recruiting, current team, fans, etc. But IMO if he settles for Watson, it's obviously a bad sign beyond just it not being someone more highly desired. Because, as you note, he's cited the desire for Texas ties and someone running a more current/popular offense like spread/uptempo. Doesn't seem like Watson fits either of these. **Ps..was just reminded above that Watson has recruited Texas for Neb (assuming more than just one season), so I guess that counts

tOSU is a top school as well. It's like recruiting, they can't accept if you don't make the offer (a criticism against Mack if you recall).
