Texas Baseball Offseason

Travis Sykora officially signed for $2.6 million. The equivalent of pick 31 slot value.
slot value was 1 million, so they over paid by 1.6 million. They also overpaid their 2nd pick by about 500k and #2 overall pick Dylan Crews is reported to be looking for 10 million, which would be 1 million over slot value.

It looks like they are investing heavily into their top picks and signing all their picks after that for much lower than slot value. A lot of their other picks where college players with no more eligibility and they are cutting 20k signing bonus deals. That savings is being spent on their top picks instead.

Lucas Gordon has signed for $300K. Best of luck, Lucas! I feel he was truly under appreciated for how good he was. Never a top prospect so didn't get all the hype. But, damn he was money!

Deadline tomorrow and Dylan Campbell still hasn't signed with the Dodgers. If my math is correct (big reach) they can offer him $650K without going over their tax threshold.

Not sure what NIL money we can offer to compete with that. But would be crazy if he didn't sign. Still interesting that he is holding out this long.

To the surprise of absolutely no one, Ivan Melendez is tearing up the minors. Now with AA Amarillo. Has hit 24 homers this year and his OPS is close to 1.000.

In 7 games with AA, hitting 308, 1000 slg, 1379 OPS, 6 HRs (of his 8 hits). Only 1 BB and 10 SOs.

It would be great to get him back next year. Team should be very good next year with all the additions and returning talent

Dylan Campbell has ended up signing for $500k. Pretty good chunk of change. Wish him the best of luck at the next level!
