Once again, Autullo is way behind on things.

McComas is reporting that UCLA coach Savage was on campus interviewing recently and is the leader right now. Florida coach might be back in the mix now due to AD retiring.

If it's Tadlock, and I don't think it will be, that more than likely means you keep Johnson. But you have to remember Tim is at his alma mater
I have no clue if Tadlock is a target, but Tech pays him nothing. Tadlock is making about $400K at Tech (even after their long term extension) while Augie was making nearly $1.1 million.

From the Lubbock Avalanche:

On May 19, Texas Tech announced a contract extension for Tadlock that runs through the 2022 season. A-J Media received the terms of that contract Wednesday.

The six-year contract is worth just under $2.4 million in annual salary — not including performance bonuses. Tadlock is slated to make $375,000 in base compensation beginning July 1. He will also make $375,000 in the 2017-18 university calendar year and then gets a raise to $400,000 in the following three years. In the final year of the contract he will earn $425,000.

Under his current contract Tadlock made more than $12,000 — or 1/2 of one month’s salary — for leading the Red Raiders to the NCAA Regional. He gets the same bonus again if Tech advances to the NCAA Super Regional and then again for the College World Series. The new contract calls for the same 1/2 month’s salary for those milestones.

He makes a bonus of $100,000 if the Red Raiders win the NCAA Championship.

Wow, Bomb, I should have lookd up his salary. I didn't knew they were getting off so cheap for a guy that has now making his second world series

Candidate list as I know it:

O'Sullivan (some say he's still in the mix.)

Savage (depending on who you talk to.)

Casey (dark horse)

Corbin (Heard this, don't know that I buy it.)

O'Connor, (although this ship may have sailed.)

I know that through this process, there are a lot of moving parts behind the scenes.  There are a lot of names that pop on the list, then off, according to various sources.  I do know that we have an advisory committee of sorts, helping Perrin/Fenves to vet names.  These are some guys with a lot of baseball knowledge.

This will happen when it happens.  Tadlock, IMO, is not a candidate right now, but obviously that could change.  Pierce is listed by some, but I don't see that as happening.

Stay tuned folks.  There's a lot to talk about while there's not much to talk about.  :)

In other words, the situation is still fluid  ;)

Savage makes $600K + bonuses & incentives. I believe that if he maxed out bonuses, he could make up to $1.1 million, while Augie's base is about $1.1 + bonuses and incentives.

That's a big difference. I always look with a jaundiced eye on programs that raise salaries under duress, rather than due to merit. Cheap jerks.

What's the wildest name you can think of?

This is a mish mash of ingredients. Gotta tell ya I've followed a lot of coaching changes, but this one takes the cake as far as spanning the globe.

Are you implying we are going out of the country to hire a coach? If so, why? Because we can?

Baseball is big in Japan, Mexico, Cuba...what have I missed?
