Per HornSports.com Managing Editor Justin Wells...

While Mack Brown and company are putting the finishing touches on the 2013 signing class, the 2014 prospects are becoming a hot commodity. One in particular gave his verbal to Texas moments ago (Per Eric Nahlin, Inside Texas). Sharpstown CB Roderick Bernard becomes the seventh member of the 2014 recruiting class for the Longhorns.

Bernard is a 5’10, 170 lbs cornerback with speed to burn. Was the District 21-4A 200 meter champ in Track and Field in 2012.

Here’s video of the new commit.

Dear God I was thinking Primetime or Champ Bailey. Still a lot of unknowns on this kid but he is fast and absolutely dynamic on both sides of the ball.

Kid told Wilkerson of Hornsnation that he was actually timed at 4.2 in the 40. Lets just say that's kinda fast..

4.2? Faaaahgeddaboudit. Play him on both sides of the ball. We need a dude like that.

Major is gonna make this damned offense so fast it'll look like a bunch of burnt orange blurs on the field.

The recruits are digging Major in his new role - word is getting out that the offense will be fast as hell and fluid. Imagine a dual threat qb under center.....
