Texas A&M Rejects WRTS?

It's more than that Mark. There is one overt school that will be pursuing this (TCU) and one covert school that is supporting them.. I'll let you figure out who the covert school is. ;)

Let me put it to you this way. Do you remember when aggy retreated to the SEC and Texas said it would be a cold day in hell before it would allow the SEC shenanigans to creep into Texas? This wasn't an idle threat, trust me on this.

Fun days ahead - book it.
Hope you are right doc.

But aggy hired a law firm to pressure the NCAA into believing Johnny's bullshit story that he did not sell his autograph. The entire world knew he did. We all know what happened but unless someone on the inside talks it will not go anywhere I'm afraid.

Never give up hope - remember, Daylon Mack likes to talk and there are more than a few recruits that know a few things.

Remember, Bear, a lot of money ran through Manziel's uncles account, as well as Manziel's. There is a paper trail on this. The situations are quite different.

Even Capone screwed up, and the Ags aren't that smart. They may end up fighting wars on so many fronts that their big boosters get writer's cramp.

Well we can hope that Papa Mack is pissed off enough to talk. But it will only count if someone is willing to talk to the NCAA. Since the autograph brokers would not talk and Johnny lied about it nothing happened. I fear the same may happen here.

The only reason aggie and Little Johnny got away with the autograph sales is JFF's lawyers dug up a few more SEC players selling their signatures - including Jadaveon Clowney, among others.

NCAA has been and will continue to be gutless. Why kill the golden goose? They know the P5 can and will easily break away, too, so they've still got their kid gloves on.

I don't think the SEC, SEC, SEC will go to bat for A&M, particularly after the LSU/A&M/Chavis dust up.

A&M is the perfect "example" type program for the NCAA. They are big enough for people to notice a scandal but not big enough to hurt the NCAA for lost revenue.

dunno, stp, maybe. We can always hope. Loss of scholarships, loss of days on the road (Chavis breathes sigh of relief), slap on wrist. At least there is the hope of justice. They are guilty. Maybe they will ask UT for information, and just maybe, we have that old tape. (That would not surprise me, at all.) That certainly would feel like justice to me.

Hook 'em!

Java, hope springs eternal I suppose.

The NCAA is either impotent or incompetent. Likely both. Not holdings breath on anything substantive happening.

The NCAA is the SEC whipping post. Watching grown men lay down oh the rail road tracks and let the SEC run away train run over them is a bunch of bs. My friends y'all have a blessed weekend.

The only reason LSU was hit with sanctions is because they self-reported their mistakes to the SEC who, in turn, passed it on to the NCAA.

I don't see anything happening with aggie here unless the Macks received free or dramatically reduced legal counsel from the aggie alum. But, I expect they'd self-report that unless they're brazenly stupid. How will they or the NCAA find out? Subpoena the aggie lawyer?

I just don't see much happening with this case. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I don't think the aggy lawyer working for the Macks is the real issue.

As I see it the issue is aggy boosters paying the Macks for the use of the logo. Paying them directly for its use or a percentage of the profits.

But someone would have to talk and I don't see that happening.

PS. Hope like hell I am wrong.

Here is what I know:

1.  Every since aggy retreated from the Big 12, UT (and some really, really, big BMD's) have been monitoring them for SEC shenanigans.

2.  Aggy knows this

3.  The SEC knows this

4.  The NCAA knows this

5.  Aaaaannnnddd - the Big 12 membership know this and is 100% involved in the monitoring.

Here is what all of us know.  Aggy cannot keep itself from stepping into a big pile of it.  The intensity of their burning desire to be relevant will cause their misstep.  It is simply inevitable.

Someday Jim will have a heated exchange with someone on this board. And at the end of each exchange, Jim will write "my friends, ya'll have a blessed weekend!"

Gotta love that guy.
