Terry Saban speaks: Nick Saban NOT going to Texas

Very interesting story.. sounds like Mrs. Saban will decide on whether they come to Texas and she is not ready to start over.

Actually, I had exactly the opposite interpretation of that article. It outlined very clearly to me EXACTLY why they're coming to Austin. For a couple that came from borderline poor and certainly working class background in West Virginia....getting paid matters a lot. Michigan State waffled on paying Nick a bonus and he & Terry bolted to LSU. The same scenario is playing itself out here where Alabama blew it big time on some massive investment deals where Nick lost his ass and they never made it right. We've already made it right...which is why its a done deal. Everything else in this discussion is purely background noise.

Time will tell but the biggest of big players (Bob Rowling/Hicks level) who would be involved in hiring Mack's replacement are very...very confident Saban is coming to Texas per info out today

Baghorn had a great post on this article on IT....I will let him post it here

okay, give me some proof to your claims that they lost money. you cant, like everything else that has anything to do with Nick Saban is unsubstantiated. Its getting a bit hard to keep asking for some proof of anything that our insiders have said in regards to Saban. The AD prediction was wrong but then they said that Patterson was the guy all along.

So let's offer Terry whatever she wants. We can even give the daughter or son in law a job paying 6 figures. Everybody is happy, happy, happy.

Whats their excuse going to be when he doesnt? "Oh, he wasnt our guy and we had (insert any coaches name) in mind"

"We are trying to educate ourselves, to change ourselves," Terry said. "We can't change expectations or change lack of appreciation. We have to change our mind-set. We have decided: this is where we are going to end our career."

seems like Terry is sold on Austin. Let me tell ya

I agree, sounds like deja vu to me...

orangeman, this isn't a court of law...I don't owe you any "proof". You're a big boy...choose who and what you want to believe. I have zero vested interest in trying to talk you into anything. You either will or won't get all the proof that matters after the season is over and this is finally made public. We've had the Saban side of this deal sown up for a while now....what's developed in the past couple of weeks is we now also have the UT side of this deal squared away. Patterson is the AD, Mack is retiring, and Powers is not standing in the way....it would take an extreme development at this point to keep Nick Saban from being named as our head coach some time in mid-January.

Look, we've got it by now. You don't believe any of it. Rather than simply re-sate the same stale comment over and over, try adding some actual insight. You ask for "proof" yet offer none yourself other than opinion. Opinions are fine but constantly using the same rhetoric calling out anyone with info they have on this subject has gotten beyond annoying.

Just my two cents.

Bag horn I hope you are right. I think we will lose some recruits from the 14 class. We need NS here to help get the studs from the 15 class.

for someone making such accusations..yes, the burden of proof is on you. It's slightly odd that this deal has been sown up for a while yet there is absolutely NO mention of it anywhere in media, nor has it been reported that UT has even asked permission to speak with Saban. There's certainly some smoke and mirrors and thats not coming from the Saban's. If you are sooo confident then put your money where your mouth is and place a bet. The Vegas odds are pretty big. You can win a lot of money since you are so confident. I think that you prob wont and name some reason as to why you wont.
