A good Sunday morning to all.
Today we jump around and try to find the answer to the one of life's questions.
Will Notre Dame and Texas meet in the National Championship Game?
One for the little guy!
It's a time in sports where the little guy has little chance of competing, let alone winning.
Over the weekend SMU beat out national powers Kansas and Kentucky, with the oral commitment from the number one point guard in the country. Emmanuel Murdiay announced, "I am going to SMU to play for Larry Brown."
It's Good to see Kansas and Kentucky get took down a rung. Good job and good luck EM.
The Longhorns are scheduled to play in South Bend on Sept. 5, 2015. The Fighting Irish are slated to play in Austin on Sept. 3, 2016, and again on Aug. 31, 2019.
The Longhorns return to South Bend on Sept. 12, 2020
but...What are the odds of the Irish and Longhorns meeting in the final BCS championship game?
USA today has ND ranked 11th and UT 15th.
ND plays (4) ranked teams. #17 Michigan and #4 Stanford on the road and #16 OU and #24 USC at home.
UT plays (3) ranked teams. #16 OU in the Red River Shootout, at #20 TCU and at home to #13 Okie St.
Here is what has to happen for it to happen.
First, Texas has to beat OU, then run the table. OSU, TCU and OU must be top 10 ranked when they play the Longhorns.
ND can lose early but their must win is Stanford.
They both need some luck, although if they run the table, the computers and voters will have them in the BCS game, no matter what.
Ohio St must lose to a team ND beats. Mich or Mich St are the likely candidates.
No more two SEC teams in the mix. There can not be another LSU/Bama bullshit in the BCS game.
Oregon St must lose to Stanford. It will be late in the season and kill their chances.
Stanford must be undefeated when they play ND. Even with a loss, a win over probable a highly ranked Stanford will seal the deal for ND.
I put the chance of the two meeting in the BCS game as unlikely, but crazier things have happened.
When did the NCAA become the Arena League? This rendition is TCU alternate helmet and uniforms it will wear in their opening game.
This shit must stop. Does tradition mean nothing?
I blame Nike, Reebok and the rest of the apparel companies who shove this shit down our throats so they can sell their shit to kids who can't spell tradition, let alone understand it.
Maybe I am just too old to change, but what is wrong with appealing to fans who care about your university and not to kids who couldn't give one shit about your university.
Since it is Sunday and I feel good, I leave you with a triple dose of endings.
Enjoy
Bitches,
Enjoy!
