After weeks for poor tackling, Mack Brown may be shuffling up his defensive lineup in preparation for the game Saturday when the Longhorns take on arguably the best offense in the Big 12, and maybe the nation.

Shuffle the deck? Mack Brown says UT

The biggest change could come at free safety as Adrian Phillips is in a three way roster battle between Mykkele Thompson and Josh Turner.

Realistically all three of those guys will most likely see a ton of playing time this week against WVU's spread attack. With so much speed coming from the Mountaineers, Texas will need to put as much speed into the secondary as possible. But what could change is where guys are lined up and who will be playing the deep safety positions/shallow safety/slot.

This depth chart shake up will be something to monitor though.

No word on Hicks, Moore yet.

Hate to say it but thank goodness. Our starters have gotten a bit too comfortable. Phillips has been getting whipped all season.

Phillips is the worst tackler, Byndom has regressed & is afraid to hit and Kendall Thompson is as clueless a football player as I have ever seen play serious snaps for a Texas defense.

We ain't getting Hicks back for this weekend's game so I hope Mack and Manny have a plan to get us back where we need to be on D. It's great that Phillips knows he isn't the automatic starter but after last weekend I see the need to reinforce the basics.
