*****SUPER REGIONAL GAME THREAD - TEXAS vs. #8 STANFORD*****

Morehouse was really good in the regional, and just closed down this game. He has turned it on when it has counted struck out all 3 !

 final Score 7-5 Texas
5.2 innings over those 3 games. He has given up 3 hits, 1 walk, 1 ER, and struck out 10.

It's not all over by any stretch. This was a game that we needed to take, especially since their ace isnt pitching until tomorrow but this team has bounced back from adversity time after time this year.
We will never know as team came back as I hoped. Nowone win is quite possible. Two wins would be a long shot with nopitching forMonday. Hookem

LBJ with a nice 1st inning. Walked the lead off runner on a 3-2 pitch but then went strike out, pop out and weak grounder. Had good control of his pitches it seemed.

Stanford's ace pitcher also with a nice half inning. A chopped single threw the left side is all Texas can manage.

0-0 after 1

LBJ with another lead off walk on a 3-2 count. Almost gets a double play ball on a weak grounder but it is just beyond O'Dowds glove. A balk moves the runners to 2nd and 3rd with no outs

Follows with a strikeout and then another walk. Bases loaded with 1 out.

Best contact of the day so far for either team yields a sac fly for Stanford. 1-0, 2 outs with runners on 1st and 2nd.

A high chopper up the middle reloads the bases on the infield single, LBJ gets Stanfords best hitter to fly out to Left-center field gap to end the inning.

That inning had 2 soft balls in the infield that went for singles and 2 walks on 3-2 counts. LBJ did good to limit the damage.

Stanford batters are showing good patience against him, not chasing his stuff out of the zone very often.

Bottom of the 2nd and Texas made the Stanford pitcher work a bit harder but they ultimately don't seem to have a bead on his pitches - lots of ugly swings or weak contact. EK dropped a "double" into the most no-man's land spot I've ever seen with 4 defenders converging but none able to make the play.

End of 2 1-0 Stanford

4 walks in 3 innings.  Too many pitches for Johnson.  Not looking good early.
