Suddess out

Hey, just because Suddes supposedly did a great job for Saban and Alabama doesn't mean he was killing it at UT. Look at our current list of commitments. Don't see too many home runs there other than Heard and Roberson. Yes, I know it was his job to uncover the diamonds and he won't be given the opportunity to do it.
Bottom line is Coach Strong and his staff did a better job of developing players than we did over the past 4 years. We've hired him and gotta trust that he knows what he's doing. Let it play out.

#TexasStrong
2014s were pretty much set by the time he got here. He started working 2015s and the early verbals are good.

IMO Patterson and Strong are succeeding 100 percent. They aren't listening to a word anybody says and running the show how they thinks best. Texas football is a business. You have to have leaders that run a business or it just won't work. Businesses fail when you have outside voices dissuading leaders from taking the course of action they want to take. We have two sheriffs in town, and I love it. No more nice Mack Brown politicking, it's bottom line time.

What is really funny is that when Suddes was hired no one even knew who the hell he was...

and that includes many Bama fans. Now he's leaving and the sky is falling...Sad/comical.

I've never seen so many drama queens. This place is like I would picture the Kardashians if I were to ever watch that BS. Freak out about something different every day most of which don't actually happen.
This place is nothing compared to OB, talk about drama Queens, wow!

Suddes doesn't even recruit. Didn't he organize recruiting events and attempt to find players that the coaches would want. In my opinion, this Horn class is the worst in a while, and most of those lowered rated players are not diamonds in the rough. Can someone refresh me on the positive developments that have occurred under Suddes' watch? A&M had someone similar in Tim Cassidy and I never got the feeling that he did anything remotely special.

Drama queen no, overreacting at times, maybe. I'm sorry but are these boards not built for the sole purpose of discussing what/how things are going on within the program. We're fans, that's kind of what we do. An overreaction about people overreacting is no better. Chill out please and let people vent.
Well said.

Bingo!!!!!

because you disagree with the decision
No, I question its timing. Suddes has been talking to these kids for a year and now, a month before signing day, the contact for the kids within the program is gone and some stranger who they have never talked to is assigned to them. Meanwhile the other people the kid has been talking to are pointing out things like Colonel Reb McCombs and asking these kids to switch their commitments. Wouldn't the day after signing day been a better time to fire your recruiting coordinator instead of a month before?

My guess is that Strong will want to hire his own guy.
I know for a fact that Charlie has asked a guy who did much of the same type of work as Suddess at Louisville to join him in Austin. This does not mean that it is in the exact same capacity though. He has also been asked by Peterson to join his staff in Washington and to stay by Louisville.

C'mon people, this is what comes along with the changing of a head coach. Patterson, and mainly Strong are the ones getting paid millions to make these kind of decisions. If UT brass didn't think they were capable of doing so, they wouldn't be in their positions. I'd rather see people walk right now, than have their retainment be an excuse a year or two down the line. Change can be a good thing and considering the last four years, looks necessary.

Hook em

I thought I was dealing with a high level of intelligence on this board. Was not stating that Suddess was a threat I am saying that looking at his body of work, that people in the know on this board are reporting, gives me pause. I can't believe more of you are not scratching your head a much as me. I think Strong will do fine, but the first steps seems somewhat puzzling.

Flame away if you must.

Like and earlier poster, I'm wondering if this has anything to do with finding a role for Arthur Johnson. Also, if Chambers is retained in some capacity that could also be in play. We still don't know what Major will wind up doing, but I'd say one thing he was very good at was recruiting.

Yes to this.... remember Diaz?????????

This all makes sense now that Kevin Steele, the man who replaced Suddes at Alabama, took the DC job at Louisville today. Look for Suddes to take over his old position there at Bama rather quickly.
