A game that really worries me on our schedule this year is the season and home opener against Louisiana.

We get a team in Louisiana that finished the 2020 season at 10-1. They return most of that team and in particular, the skill positions and OL.

They opened the season last year fast, beating Iowa State in Ames, and beat them soundly 31-14.

Meanwhile, we're breaking in a new HC and staff with both new offensive scheme and defensive scheme as well as a new QB.

Color me worried.

Lol. Too early to worry about that. Right now, I'm more concerned about how we look in the spring game to the undecided recruits.

I'll join you in that worry by the end of August, but I've got enough gray hair as it is.

Until Texas starts beating the dog shit out of teams they should like the other big boys do we will not be back. They fact this is even a concern tells you all we need to know about the current status of Texas football..

That remains to be seen. Sarkisian is an unknown for us right now. I think we all want to believe, but we've all been down this road before.

I do think this says just as much about the Louisiana program. We've played them twice before. Beat them 52-10 and then 62-3 in 2005. But the team they'll put out of the field this year would probably finish in the top 3 of the Big 12.

They're good.

We don't know if we're good or not. Not yet. And nothing will change that until we start, like you said, beating the dogshit out of teams we're supposed to. But I don't think this year Louisiana is one of those teams. They will be salty.
