Sterling Gibbs to Transfer

Sterling Gibbs will be transferring from Texas per multiple sources. He didn't get a lot of playing time this year and Kabongo is returning for his Sophmore season which means Gibbs would most likely not get a lot of playing time next year. Plus Texas is bringing in Javan Feliz which means Gibbs might never see time in the upcoming year. Hard to blame him for wanting to move on. Plus he is a long way from his home in New Jersey. He is a good kid and will add a ton of value to a program in need.

There had to be some attrition somewhere. I have to think there will be more with the scholarship numbers being so tight.

You would think so. He tweeted he was homesick and I hear Notre Dame is interested in him. Barnes probably gave him the unconditional release so he can play elsewhere next year. He never really got a fair shake in my opinion under Barnes. Even with Myck's struggles Gibbs only played minimal minutes.
