Stacy Searles

Strange unless its another position. That doesn't fit with the Wickline news

Feldman says Wickline and Texas are in discussions, and OB's last update just this afternoon confirmed that as well and says the talks are pretty far along. (looks like someone edited that part)

The same per a couple of posters over there

Going to be interesting if talks with Wickline have progressed like we have been told. Wonder if Searls would change positions.

Could there be a place for both Wickline and Searls on the staff? If there is, this is not a bad thing IMO

I don't see anyway Searles changes positions, he is an OL coach and a good one. I think they are shooting for Wikeline but if they don't get him it will be Searles. I am not in the loop though so I could be way off

Searels wants to stay and we are working on Wickline. If Wickline or Texas passes on him, Searels is in.

this. no way both can be on the same staff

I am good with Searles or Wickline. Both are great. Either/or. Not my area of concern unless both are off the table.

Burton is saying Wickline is a major target by Strong as well for OL and his buyout isn't a problem. One thing Burton also mentioned was that the reason we aren't hearing announcements for the assistants from Louisville is that they have buyouts unless their positions are filled so we need Petrino to fill his spots to avoid buyouts for Bedford and the LB coach. Lastly, Burton has heard the RB coach from Louisville isn't coming coming and Chambers could be an option at RB coach. Just makes me wonder where Porter and Giles may fit in all of this.

If Strong's running backs coach from the 'Ville isn't coming, why isn't Porter getting some run? He coaches up running backs, he's a killer recruiter, and he knows Texas and the high school coaches now. Chambers isn't a bad recruiter, but he leaves a lot to be desired on the coaching end. Move him to the new recruiting staff if you wanna hold on to him, but keep Porter as a coach and recruiter. It just makes sense.
