He can't handle the spotlight yet he wants to be a head coach? I don't know. His aspirations don't seem to match these reports. We'll see. I'm warming on Gilbert some of Cumbie doesn't work out.

My lone concern about Gilbert is can he recruit at the level of a Cumbie? And who does he bring as his staff? I don't want a coach that is so damn grateful for the opportunity that he doesn't replace the problem areas of our offensive staff.

Well then you referred to MJ, I didn't. That said, I stand by my comment. Charles was more than a Cheerleader. He was on visits with recruits. He was constantly texting with recruits. And he knew just about everyone. Just like Giles. The difference is, Giles has a little more pull than Omenihu.

Considering we were supposed to land Whaley once we got Curtis and then 3 days later Whaley commits to Georgia, Im pretty skeptical.  Yes he uncommitted after Georgia let Richt go and is back in play but he isnt visiting due to SAT's

A.) I'm not an expert. Not even close. But I do follow recruiting very closely.

B.) I never claimed Giles was the messiah. Just like I never called him MJ. You're really starting to fabricate a lot of your argument. Are you claiming that Omenihu was a messiah? Because that would contradict your cheerleader comment.

C.) I never once claimed we'd land those recruits. That is, again, your own fabrication.

D.) I'm not sure what Whaley has to do with this. I never brought him up. I didn't speak to Davion's relationship with Whaley as beyond what I've been told on this board, I'm not familiar with it. I didn't even know about Curtis until a few months ago.

You're grasping at straws that don't exist right now and I'm not sure why. Is it an excuse to talk down on a recruit? The program? What is the goal here?

As I've said an unbelievable number of times already - star rankings outside of 5 star players are completely arbitrary.  No scouting service can actually watch all of these players and evaluate accurately.  Connor Williams - who might be the best Freshman Tackle in college football - was a 3 star.

Giles, since approx the time his Senior film came out has gotten offers from Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, Miss St. and Arkansas.
