Sonny Cumbie and Texas

Per Burton

If Cumbie takes the job, the OL and RB positions are all but decided. I'm not going to release names at this point out of respect for those folks because they still have their own jobs if Cumbie does not take the position.

lol... This is Sonny Cumbie's beautiful wife who accompanied him to Austin. I assume she's meeting with the Realtor...

Hopefully she isn't meeting with the same realtor that Sabans wife used.

Good looking Couple and this almost looks like an ad you would see in the Austin Chronicle for a music concert  that they will be performing at in Austin tonight!!!!   Yeah they will fit in well in Austin  (Casual and laid back)  I am guessing of course!!!!

Why am I confused by what he is saying? Am i missing his point?
Hey TM, just post on Twitter that Cumble is the new OC at Texas and Nick Saban is the new DC, according to sources. You don't have to be right if you say according to sources.

Two names most mentioned:

ASU OL coach Chris Thomsen

Thomsen is a former Texas HS coach and coached at Abilene Christian and Tech before going to ASU.

Tech RB Coach Mike Jinks

Jinks was almost 20 years a Texas HS coach and was hired at Tech as RB coach a few years ago.

What are your thoughts on the 2 coaches?

Scout says we should not expect an official announcement on Cumbie today.

From what I can google - they have extensive ties to Texas football and should have an excellent understanding of recruiting in Texas.  Thomsen seems to have a good reputation as a recruiter - so thats a nice change.  He coached ACU into one of the most prolific offenses in Division II.

Jinks has spent the vast majority of his career (20 years) as a HS coach.  Only been at Tech a few years but was promoted to Assistant Head Coach.  Have no idea what kind of a recruiter he is - but generally you want your RB coach to be a rainmaker on the recruiting trail.  Hopefully he can deliver where T-Rob couldn't.

OB visually confirmed Cumbie and Strong exiting a car driven by the Texas head coach at the football facility on Monday.

They entered the Moncrief-Neuhaus Athletics Center together.
