for the record, the only reason i was the least bit negative about Hurtt was because im sick and tire of Strong giving handouts to his buddies. NOW if this guy is an "Amazing recruiter and even better coach" then i could care less about his past, if he can produce and not draw sanctions to our program then hire the guy.

I just want something on the field that resembles the program i grew up watching.

I've heard nothing, but how Clint Hurtt is a bad ass on he recruiting trail. His show cause is up and he had no problem finding work in the NFL. If NFL coaches have no beef with having him on staff, then I'm perfectly fine with him being on staff at Texas. Having a show cause sure as hell haven't stop colleges from beating down Chip Kelly's door every time opening comes up.

And I think Chip will be back in college wants the NFL gets tired of him. Kinda shocked it didn't happen this year with how things are going in Philly.

Reversal

More of an overstatement than a reversal, really.  I Should've said pissed and losing patience and should've known that you'd pounce on an overstatement.  I think that Charlie's the right guy to get the program turned around BUT if we can't win more than 6 games next year my confidence in him is going to start to fade and my patience with it.

I'm on board, too, if Hurtt is free & clear from the NCAA. IMO it will put us under the microscope a little, but that's okay if Hurtt keeps his nose clean. By now, he should know how to circumvent follow NCAA Rules.

I listen to Chip & Sean every morning while at the gym..The past couple Weeks Chip has been hinting that Clint Hurtt has or will be communicated with, if Perrin approves. Chip has also said that the show cause penalty expired earlier this year.

Read the question below from a poster on HD and also read Higs Response...Looks like Hurtt is fair game.

Other than the hints that Chip has been consistently dropping, I haven't found anything else

Our recruiting class thus far is lackluster.  I am hoping we get Hurtt, even if that means Co-DC.  We havent landed any top impact DL since Strong has been here, I guess you can consider Poona to some extent.  

I dont feel comfortable just relying on 3 star Charlie coaching up 2-3 star recruits.  I would prefer we have a staff that can close the MJ's, Elliotts, Jones and Olivers.   Traylor, Hurtt, and Cumbie would be a big improvement.  Brick has been very disappointing thus far since he is considered a solid recruiter.
