Sonny Cumbie and Texas

Read an interesting take over on OB from a poster who seems to be well respected over there.

Says this may be a case of Cumbie wanted to be completely sure that Charlie is all in on making changes to the offense.

Blake,

I cant say im surprised you responded to my post to Hip.  Hmm SHA and Street and then Blake comes along.  So this isnt surprising.  Just so we are clear you opinion means shit to me as well.  I am sure you would love nothing but a board of senseless Strong defending.

As for your opinion on me joining another board, no thanks.
hi dmac.

Posted 22 hours agoOk boys, just got off the phone with a friend. This is not the same one that I spoke with on Nov. 1. This guy is connected on the Cumbie side of things.

Cumbie is a done deal. Told me it has been for a while.

RB coach at Tech is coming with Cumbie.

OL coach at Az St is coming with Cumbie.
This was never 100% done.

Like I said, get ready boys!

If Charlie is not all in on making changes to the offense, then he isn't the right coach for us.

Latest rumor, with a heavy emphasis on the word rumor, is that Sonny was spotted at Cedar Hill HS this morning wearing a purple TCU shirt.

Dear God, please tell me that OB isn't really reporting that Brian Schottenheimer is on our short list.

Here's what another poster had to say about it.

If I'm Cumbie I have to question whether Charlie will buy in. And when push comes to shove on game day who really has the say. When it's 3rd and 7 with a 7 point lead and Cumbie wants to air it out and Charlie wants the running play whose call is it.

Got to say, if I'm Cumbie, I'm want to have an idea of what happens in this scenario.

My personal opinion is that Strong would give him whatever creative freedom he wanted... Keep in mind he let that idiot Watson run a muck for far too long annnd then Norvell stepped in to be slightly less horrible. I think Strong is completely ok with being hands off with the O. IMO.

*I have no sources*

TCU boards reporting that Cumbie's meeting with Patterson just ended.

I've got to run to the store so don't anybody let anything happen until I get back, okay? Thanks.[/quote

247 says, as 12:45 today, Cumbie and Patterson have met face-to-face.

Decision expected today

FWIW, Higs is saying that the in-home visit with Shane B. Could be pushed back as late as Sunday
