Some Midweek Recruiting Notes

Here are a few notes I have for you guys on this Wednesday.

1. HornsDigest and Hookem247 both are reporting a commitment is imminent.  While we usually don't copy that info from sites, it has made it's way out to twitter.  We are aware of the situation and are working to confirm with a second source but we are pretty sure we have the commit nailed down.  I've prepared a profile for him in the event he does commit.  Jason Higdon at HD first reported it so credit goes to him on breaking it.  

2. I've been told to be on the lookout for two possible commitments this weekend from incoming visitors if things go well.  The Kansas game is shaping up to be a big visit week including the top prospect in the state (Brandon Jones of Nacogdoches) making his way to campus.  We will have a full visitor list out later this week.

3. I spoke with JUCO CB Antonio Kanonu of El Paso Prep this evening.  He's also visiting for the game and said he's been in contact with Texas via Chris Vaughn for a few weeks.  He thinks an offer could be coming his way this weekend and said Texas would be in his top 2 if that were to happen.  We'll have more with Kanonu after his visit.

Sounds like Burton and Higdon are starting to hear the same things and are hinting this could be a big weekend for Texas with a couple of poosible commits.  Nice work Mike.

Burton posted that the timing is entirely dependent on the local station and when they have an opening.  Player is still entirely committed to Texas - but committment might not happen until after the weekend.
