So...

Duece, this game and the TCU game scare the hell out of me.

WV's offense is balanced. Trickett is a helluva QB. Your offense is clicking on all cylinders. Your defense is better than it's been the past few years.

We will have to play our best game of the year - and WV will have to make some mistakes (that we capitalize on) - for us to come out a winner in this one.

We've got to get ourselves bowl eligible. That means we have to win over either WVU or TCU to get there. I'm worried.

Question is, what is WVU's mindset after the choke-job vs TCU?  Holgerson went all Guy V. Lewis and implemented a conservative game plan.  He effectively went into a stall.  Had TCU on the ropes and let it slip away.  So how does the team respond with a trip to Austin?

i'm beefing up security around my couch.

Deuce, love your name!  I am a card player, btw, but not poker.  :-)

It will be interesting to see what Holgo deploys.  I have a working theory, and Holgo will surely test it.  I hope Texas comes out hitting on all cylinders and takes it to y'all.  If we do, it should be interesting.  I believe that Holgo is a brilliant offensive strategist and that Strong is a brilliant defensive mind, unfortunately Strong doesn't have a full arsenal at the moment.  We are going to need a little luck, but then, doesn't luck always play a role?

I look back on our National Championship season in 2005, and we had our fair share of luck.  We did not suffer a significant injury that year until the 4th quarter (I believe) of the Championship Game when Brown suffered a broken arm.  That was simply amazing.

Thank you for coming over and checking with us.  I really like the WVU fans, and admire the enthusiasm you show for your Mountaineers.  However, at kick-off, everything will be viewed through my Burnt Orange glasses.  Welcome to Austin, and

Hook 'em, Horns!

May the Tower Be Orange, and The Force Be with Us.

Let me say... you guys are stuck with me all week B)

I think the game will be much better than some think. WVU can't let TCU beat them twice, but they also can't overlook Texas. I like the UT run game, when they run it. Defense is the heart of the team from what I've seen, which isn't much but highlights.

5.5 seems about right to me.

Look forward to the conversation this week.

Appreciate it.

WVU and Texas folks seem to have a solid relationship and probably not far a part in our pride and love of program. I've said many times the Big 12 needs Texas to be successful... just hope it doesn't happen this week.

Deuce is no stranger to HornSports.  He was the very first WVU media guy I met/talked to when the school joined the Big 12.  He's good people and him and Jeremy run a nice site called BlueGoldSports.com.  It's the only WVU site I visit.

Check-in with us this week, Jerry - should be a good one in Austin on Saturday.

You are always welcomed here. Always good discussion!

Just watch out for our juggernaut of an offense. It will give you guys nightmares. I know it has been giving me plenty ;)

And I don't think Trickett wants to do the Horns down like Geno. I heard Diggs likes to lay the wood.

Duece - We are going to take your rag tag team of mountain goobers and eviscerate it.  WVU is no longer playing in that sisters-of-the poor conference you used to reside in.  You are playing with the big boys now and TCU barely beating you is no big deal.  They are a rag tag bunch as well and, like you, are thanking their lucky stars they got in while the getting was good.

Maybe now, with the money you will make in the Big 12, you can upgrade that sorry little league facility you call a baseball field.   And let's don't even talk about your so called "rifle" team.  Seriously?  Three fourths of the families in Texas have rifles and most of them would put your so called "Rifle' team to shame.  And how about that ridiculous name you call your stadium - PUSKAR?  I learned about this in pre-med.  I sure wouldn't name a stadium after it.

And I hear you like to burn couches.  Why?  Is there inter-breeding going on in West Virgina?

Finally, your state is tiny.  Hell, Harris county is bigger.

So, come on over to Austin - this is waiting for you:  :D
