It's a hot button because the haters can't let go.That's what's so destructive about hatred. Once you start down that road, it's hard to come back.

For everyone's emotional health and well-being, let's focus on the future.

Hook 'em.
Well said, Drift.

News so old its being talked about today. Save the 4th grade personal attacks.
It's being propagated by a staffer with zero knowledge of the truth - it's called flaming or trolling.

It's probably talked about on OB as well. That is a piss poor rational, and board deserves better.

I agree

Now... what?? Whisenant? I'm sure OB is trying their damnedest to get with Bonney to find out the truth.

Sorry, I'm not quite following your post.

I voted no

I believe mack is one of those people who can justify anything that comes out of their mouths....they believe their words should be chiseled in stone, and stand ready and willing to go to war with anyone who dares to call them out on a bullshit statement

~~~ you have a perfect example of this type on this thread
Yes, I believe Mack has always had the best interest on University of Texas at heart. Did he always make the best decision and one in a timely manner, nope.
I don't care about Mack having the best interests of a spot in Austin at heart. I would hope he'd always have the best interest of young men at heart. And I think it's hard to argue anyone in D1 football had done a better job than Mack.
I believe every single recruit had to be re evaluated, re sold, or cut loose, regardless of whether or not Mack said something to them or not. Likewise for any particular recruit's evaluation of the new staff.
I believe this is true in every coaching change. So my point is, dear fellow posters, (avoiding 4th grade rhetoric) this whole thing is now up to Coach Strong and his staff. If Mack did this (which I doubt) then that is something he has to live with. We as fans, don't.
I choose to get behind the men and boys on our sideline. They deserve our complete attention and support.
Fair enough - I'll clarify.
You have a supposed staff guy, whisenant - who feels the need to start two separate threads on asking if Mack was essentially, an no good SOB for supposedly doing something at the banquet. A staffer, who with absolutely no first hand knowledge - this seems to be the official policy here, lead by mcphaul - questions if mack is throwing Texas under the bus.
Now, it's been documented that Mack was signing autographs post this supposed event, "Hook 'em ". This is of no concern to whise or several other posters. Of no concern or merit.
whisnut says, "If anyone saw this interview on channel 13 in Houston PLEASE weigh in, but its being broken by posters on OB, per current UT "commit" John Bonney, that Mack Brown told all of the committed players to look elsewhere while at the banquet."
This is completely untrue. Facts seem to get in the way here. Bonney said that on his official visit, when Mack resigned 9AND WE DID NOT HAVE A REPLACEMENT YET), that Mack told him, ..."Talk to other coaches…Because he just wanted the best for us. "
Let's look at that - BECAUSE HE JUST WANTED THE BEST FOR US.
Let's now compare that to what whisenhunter wrote - "If so, thats a s*** move, and one which could (you would think) give UT some leverage to negate his buyout or stop paying him since he does have a financial relationship with the school."
I posted that this is an embarrassment troll like response. This is a staffer? This is what you would expect from a mcphaul or a Jesus loving entitled to judge duke randolf/randolf duke.
I understand, that as a free board, they want traffic, sponsers and an OB mentality of piss and complain. Negative always outweighs the positive on these sites.
But what the hell, Saban is a 100% lock, unless Mack sabotages the deal.
