Steve Buechele was a highly coveted athlete coming out of Servite High School in Anaheim, California.  He was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 1979 draft but instead chose to play baseball at Stanford University, where he was roommates with NFL legend John Elway.  In 1982 he was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the amateur draft and spend eight years as a Ranger before playing with the Cubs and the Pirates.  He finished his Major league Baseball Career in 1995 with the team he started with - the Texas Rangers.

Shane Buechele, Steve's son and University of Texas quarterback commit, is following in his father's footsteps - in a different sport.

The folks at Fox Sports and Rangers Insider put together a neat video on Steve and Shane Buechele.
