SEC Bias discussion

Read somewhere else where ESPN was running a fan poll for the Heisman. The QB from Navy was winning and D. Henry from Alabama was running second. Well, ESPN couldn't allow that **** to happen so they removed the Navy QB from the ballot. Now Henry is winning.
I find that extremely hard to belie--

Sorry. I threw up a little in my mouth.

Shannon Kelly makes a good point about the NFL talent in the SEC.  For sure, more players are drafted from that conference than any other.

But I submit this as well:

1.  They have the largest quantity of teams - thus the largest quantity of NFL players.

2.  They, primarily, run offenses and defenses more similar to what the NFL runs. (that's why decent spread teams usually demolish them)

3.  All other conferences run some form of the spread - which is not run in the NFL.

4.  All other conferences have defenses and players geared to stopping the spread - which are not the NFL type of players.

5.  NFL scouts are just as caught up in the SEC 'mystique" as the SEC fans and their reports are somewhat biased because of it.

Finally, who cares how many players from the SEC go to the NFL?  We are talking college television bias and national rankings here.  Does ESPN cover games based on how many NFL prospects there are?

So I'm working from home today and for the first time ever, I'm watching the Paul Finebaum Show. Wow! I think every dang red-neck in the south calls into this show and half of them are drunk!

I had to change the channel after awhile, unbelievable!

November 2011 – E-mails released from Texas A&M AD Bill Byrne show the university in a panic over ESPN's relationship with Texas and the Longhorn Network.  Byrne notes ESPN "threatened" Texas Tech with putting one of their games on LHN.

I can see aggy already lining up to claim they were never in a panic over the LHN.

Edit note: The above is from the link J.B. posted
