SEC baseball--- 2 top 5 teams in Austin Georgia vs. Texas

Top of the 7th. Georgia hits a leadoff homerun.
Spencer gets thru the 7th. 10 strikeouts for Spencer around 90 pitches only a couple of hits and walks. Great outing if that's it for Spencer.

Top of the 8th,
J. Spencer goes 7 2/3 innings pitched. 106 pitches 2 hits, 4 walks, 11 strikeouts, 1 ER. Great outing.
Volantis is coming in
Without going back to check stats, that seems to be Spencers best outing all year. Then factor in that Georgia is probably the best offense we have faced all year and that was a stellar performance.

Coaching staff may not call him a closer but Volantis seems to be the high leverage end of game relief.

Volantis was nails. 9 pitches to get the last 4 outs.

OTOH, Georgia's kid that shut us down threw close to 50 pitches tonight. He was tough. Probably only see him a bit on Sunday.

Spencer aka Goldylocks ( he might have Bert Auburn beat) was a stud tonight.

I said that on another site and was immediately jumped on by Texas fans. You and two others was pretty much the message.
My 2¢: Since I watch almost every game via TV/Live Stream, I was telling people leading up to the move to the SEC that LHN would be sorely missed. And here we are.
ESPN, for all of the great production value of baseball games on LHN, has essentially abandoned that approach with the SEC network and SECN+. When they’re not piping in the radio audio because they have no crew assigned to the game, they put live announcers in the booth and the audio intermittently cuts out throughout the entire game. It doesn’t matter whether I watching on my laptop, phone or smart TV. 28 games in, and still, zero addressing of the problem by ESPN. They don’t care. It is like we have gone back 40 years in time. And it’s not just UT games that experience this. There are some ESPN baseball games that have only one camera at their field, behind the plate. Unbelievable.

I have no problem with Ty Harrington on the call. I do think ESPN has missed the boat by not bringing in Swindell to call games. Moreland is somewhat regular, whether on 1300 radio broadcast or in the booth.

So, Baron, you are not alone in your thoughts.

Now let’s get a W today.

Firing up the Weber today and hell yeah for the win.

Pretty much everyone but Spencer and Bing could be available today to pitch.

Top of the 1st, Georgia get a hitter on via error. Then the next guy gets a RBI double as the runner scores for Georgia. Another unearned run for Harrison. This is done after 2 outs. Then a strikeout.

Heading to the bottom of the 1st 1-0 Georgia

Top of the 3rd,

Harrison walks the leadoff hitter ( #9 hitter no less), then hits the next batter. Georgia gets a RBI double. Next guy fielder choice to get the runner on double going to 3rd while giving up another run. 1 out runner on 1st. Georgia now leads 3-0.

Need to get our bats going. Hopefully this is the game Easton Winfield breaks out. His bat could really help this lineup
