Saban- Here We Go

I talked with my source and he said Saban is definitely not dead. We are still talking with Sexton through back channels. We have some major hurdles to overcome after all of this (think Mack's future role at Texas). We would have to specifically and very clearly create a legitimate firewall between Mack and the football program. However, the fact that Mack is finally gone has brought Saban back to the table. It will be an uphill battle.

 
Great news Darrell. I think it would be quite hilarious if Mack's petulant behavior last week that led to the meltdown Friday night and Saturday actually ended up being the catalyst after giving the steamrollers the high ground and taking the starch out of Powers & Mack that allowed the Saban deal to finally happen.

I applaud them for trying to work it. I can't believe it will come to anything after Mack just made us look like idiots.

 
Of course we're still talking to Sexton. He has a bunch of other clients and he would love to place one at Texas. If Saban wants a job at Texas, though, he is going to have to apply like everybody else. We're not doing back channels.

You know it's going to be Powers. And right there the Saban deal get's $#@!ed.
I think he has lost his power there. The BMD already threatened to stop giving money if Mack didn't step down. Powers will not dare upset them again.
