His wife is a realtor, she's bought plenty of houses in Austin. However, they could be using that house as a future getaway house while they live in the city!

Just to clarify, how can they have a contract and the Bor not be involved? Or powers etc? Maybe they been involved all along but how we just send a contract when Mack isn't even gone and BOR haven't approved. Just trying to understand how it all works. Thanks. Getting fired up!!

Especially with the news out there that Mack/Powers/Patterson are expected to discuss the situation in New York?

Mack isn't a factor. He has two options, to leave happy or leave angry. There will be formalities such as posting the job for any interested applicants, as per state law, but that is not a substantive issue. With a contract this size (Saban will be the highest paid public employee ever, not only in the state, but in the nation) you can bet this has been discussed among the BOR (they meet on Thurs).

Scott Feldman just signed with the Astros for 3 years 30 million. Umh, yea, Nick Saban is worth 10 million a year and will generate much more revenue.

No way UT is doubling the base salary of the current highest paid HC in football. They would be vilified in the press.

My guess is that includes his entire deal and assistants. Purely an opinion on my part.

You say that, but what would the income be from UT winning the conference or a national title in the next couple of years???? How many new athletic donors might contribute if the program demonstrated such a commentment to putting a competative team on the football field? I think Mack paid for salary and then some; see no reason Saban would not do the same.
