Dykes did pretty good with Patterson's players which he could not win with.

Patterson might have won with them this year. Max turned the corner this year. That’s what they needed a QB.

Agree.  I've always thought in football, "Your team is what your QB play says you are"

I know, I know, a great defense and all that, but if you have mediocre QB play and he turns the ball over a lot, even a strong defense can get worn out.
