I dont like listening to Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fowler. First, just call the game. I don't care to hear their narratives and opinions of the rest of NCAA. The standard is Ray Scott with "Stare...Dowler...touchdown." That is all you need to know. Don't need to know the alignment, zone or man-to-man defense, what the QB was thinking before the snap, etc., etc., etc. Main thing I need to know is who threw it, who caught it and the result. Secondly, all of the second guessing by Herbstreit. A player could make a great run and Herbstreit will second guess, " Was there a hold there, was there a block in the back, did he run out of bounds, did he touch the pylon, did the vall come out of his hands?" None of which happened. Yes, this is a hyperbole but he takes the fun out of the game by his constant chatter. With his constant criticism of failed plays he should be reminded like Howard Cosell was reminded by Don Meredith: "Howard, it is a whole lot different down there on the field than it is up here in the press box."
