According to the Chronicle, the letter said UH's "blatant copying" of the Oilers jerseys was grounds for legal action and it demanded that the university discontinue any sales of merchandise and remove any promotional or social media posts that feature the imagery.

"The Houston Cougars' attempt to free ride on the popularity of the NFL and the club violates the intellectual property rights of the NFL and the (Tennessee) Titans," attorney Bonnie L. Jarrett wrote in the Oct. 13 letter, according to the Chronicle, which reported the letter said the Oilers design is "among the most famous and valuable NFL marks."

Seems like a reasonable schedule, given all of the geographic challenges and number of teams, and number of games etc.

Playing some teams only every 3.5 years seems too infrequent to me, although it's better then the current SEC schedule where you have 6 teams from the other division that you only play every 6 years.

From a scheduling perspective the SEC is fortunate to not have those geographical issues. It will be interesting to see if they move to the 9 game 3-6-6 schedule that most assumed.

If the SEC sticks with 8 conference games they could use the ACC approach of having some teams play less often so more teams can play every year. If they go that route it will be interesting to see what they come up with.
