The play-by-play for the ULM games shows he caught a pass as the 3rd quarter and a 2nd pass early in the 4th quarter.

yeah. But what bothers me, however, is that once you build a database, then it's relatively easy to parse the blocks/cells into different tables for display or queries. If it is built correctly, it shouldnt be any extra work.

Okay, but you can find a team roster on just about any Texas website, lol. 

yep. but team rosters are generally not updated - they should be but arent.  Again, if the site is set up correctly with a common database, then once the data is inputted, it should parse out to different displays including the individual stat tab on the roster.  It doesnt during the season but it should

I dont know if this helps anyone but I like to post the recruit commits on the same rows as roster players.  IMO, the recruiting should more closely correlate to outgoing upperclassmen than the underclassmen.  

As a visual, I like to highlight the "blue chip" recruits in blue. My definition of blue chips are 4* & 5*.  They are in order by the percentage ranking; ie, 92% higher than 89%.  I know it is HIGHLY subjective but it's a method nonetheless.

I like it.  I would reduce the optimal numbers a bit to around 80-82 in order to allow for extra value transfer players, or extra P/K, etc

I've been trying to combine the Class Roster with scholarships, with depth chart, with red shirt status, and with incoming position class. 

Is this format more readable and useful?  I rearranged the players from top to bottom as they would play on the field (left to right). the positions are also all on the same row.

classes with six blocks one for commitments. Your was would narrow it down to one chart.

yeah, that's the intent: to have one functional spreadsheet for Longhorn football reference.  

I think I'll go with the last example. Later on, I'll rearrange the rest of it in a similar way.
