What can I say. If the Texas team keeps maintains this level pf play, Barnes is sitting in the cat birds seat for being named the B12 Coach of The Year.

This 2014 year may turn out for some good STUFF to happen to all of our sports

And the support for the team should begin to grow as fans begin to reconnect with the program and a team that is actually fun to watch. It's not a tough equation. DKR was lifeless simply because is was tough getting excited over a team that was consistently outcoached. Now comes the really fun part. We get to see if Rick can keep the team focused. The last four games have to have taken a lot out of them and four of the next six are on the road.

In particular, I want the baseball team to return to being a "national power" again. Need to get back to the CWS and REPRESENT!

Good point. At least through the first half of the Big 12, can't think of anyone more deserving. The team seems to be getting better. Defense as well. Ridley is a best on the boards and D.

Interesting, I was thinking the same today, hoping we've turned the corner and no longer just a volleyball school.

...ad hominem to the man...

winning through humility, is hereby setting the new foundation as per the "barnes" legacy.

Still have 10 conference games to go. I think 8-1 at home is now a given, with only OSU being a team that should be considered a game Texas could lose. I don't see Texas winning @ISU or @KU, but a win @KSU and @OU is definitely attainable. So I'm saying 8-1 at home, 6-3 on the road. 14-4 overall, #2 in the Big 12 and a Top 4 NCAA tournament seed.

All of you analysts make my head hurt. Just watch the games and enjoy.

I think at this point you have to legimately move him into National Coach of the Year conversation.....

wow.

all i know is that 2 weeks ago after a few losses, people were predicting more losses than wins for the rest of the schedule. how that tone has changed and wonderfully so!`

Barnes is proving he can really coach. i get excited when i consider next year too....

What else can you say about Barnes at this point. He is doing a hell of a good job coaching and he can still recruit.

After the 3rd or 4th game I thought, what if Rick Barnes has the kind of year that Mack promised. It was a serious stretch at the time, but its not a crazy question now.

He has really turned things around. Especially when you consider what most were predicting with this team and just how tough the B12 is in basketball this year.

I am one that wanted him gone, but at this point he has proven that he should get another chance.

All I know is that we hired a Louisville coach and we are becoming a basketball school.

Who woulda thunk it?

Glad the team is doing well and winning some games. However, for me, it's all about March. If we go one and done or two and BBQ, none of this will mean much. At least to me. I'm a fringe CBB fan.
