If it makes you feel any better - do you really believe that Steve Patterson would fly all the way to Virginia without knowing for sure that Smart would accept the job?

No way SP risks the remotest chance of being turned down.  He knows that would be disastrous for his reputation and credibility.

Smart is a done deal.  Logic and Patterson's ego guarantees it.

Update after that on another board says Smart is in a team meeting at 10pm (Eastern) which is 9 here, and that was posted 29 minutes ago.

Reports on ShaggyBevo that team meeting is over and players are not commenting as they exit.  Also reporting that the new men's basketball coach at The University of Texas is Shaka Smart.  Just passing on what I read. Not confirmed.
