***** Regional Bracket Announcement****

Can't say I'm disappointed with this draw.

1-I was a little afraid we would draw Sam Houston State as the 3. High powered offenses are what will be the demise of the Longhorns. Rice and A&M aren't offensive teams.

2-Rice is one of the easiest host draws IMO (if not the easiest). Don't get me wrong they are a good team, but certainly beatable. The fact that we won 2 of 3 against them is proof we can beat them.

3-I'm glad we are playing at Rice. Ballpark is small and will help our bats.

4-The saying I've been using all year "score 3 to 5 runs a game" could not be truer for this regional. Rice and A&M aren't going to put up crooked numbers, just score a few runs and you will be in position to win.

5-The keys to beating A&M are simple. A) Put the ball in play. A&M will create offense with errors. B )Get to A&M's bullpen. Almost every game I've seen with A&M, the bullpen has blown a lead. C) Don't worry about A&M getting a few hits. They will pick up hits, but base running and double plays will run them out of innings.

6-Rice is much like Texas. Great pitching but the bats struggle at times. Matter of fact, Rice has more offensive issues. Texas just needs to manufacture a few runs here and there against Rice.

Childress said today that Jonathan Moroney is out for the postseason w/ broken wrist. He said Logan Taylor is "50-50".

Not a good start for A&M heading into the regionals.

So, which region is the Group of Death?
IMO, it's the Gainesville Regional:

1. UF (National #2)

2. LBSU (playing extremely well)

3. UNC (seriously)

4. College of Charleston (experienced team)

The Oxford, MS & Baton Rouge, LA brackets are also tough. Winner of Houston plays winner of Baton Rouge.
