Redshirt Freshman DT Chris Daniels Transferring

It's odd to me when a cat like Daniels transfers.  I guess they all have their reasons.  If playing time is the reason, then does it make sense to transfer, sit a year, and then hope to get more playing time at a different university?  I mean he's already in this system and would probably be looking at increased pt this season and perhaps competing to start next season.   If the coaching staff truly would prefer him to stay, I'm sure they let him know that and this move makes no sense imo.  To each is own I guess and I do wish the kid success wherever he lands.

I am most puzzled by the idea to ask for/get a release and then stay in school. Does that mean he has to move out of the atletes dorm and from now on pay his way this semester? That is too weird. He must have simply hated to workouts.

His scholarship will run thru the end of the semester.
