Recruiting Updates

I thought Garnett decomiitted but then again I think I'm just getting confused.

The Foreman brothers have cancelled their visits to Missouri per Blake Munroe.

Yes, I'm talking about the Garnett that decommitted. He decommitted though because Texas stopped recruiting him, because they didn't think he would get accepted due to grades.

The Foreman brothers have also cancelled their in home visits with the Missouri head coach. Told you not to worry about the Foreman brothers.

Looks like we are going to lose Bonney to Baylor (that isn't a 100 percent yet though). That should be the last decommitment. I think we get at least 2 out of 3 from Ford, Nelson and Hill. Might even get all three. I think we will also pick up another random recruit too. Say what you will, but Strong is probably going to end with a top 15 class at signing day which is incredible after a complete coaching overhaul.

Yep, people are going to freak out a bit. However with a complete overhaul and a completely different direction than the previous staff, this is not surprising and I think Strong is bringing in a good class when you consider the transition that has taken place.

I agree. He's actually doing better than Sumlin when he first came to aggy. Aggy had something like 12 decommitments inside a month. When you think about it in those terms our current recruiting situation doesn't look so bad.

I am so ready for the class of 2015 to be better than the class of 2014. I do like the class of 2014 anyway.

Texas freshman OG Alex Anderson (@pop2201) has officially joined the program. Talked about him tonight on @LonghornNetwork Extra.

Per Max Olson

Basketball news. Texas has parted ways with JUCO recruit Obie Oleka.

Rick Barnes Statement on Obie Oleka:

"We have granted Obie an unconditional release from his letter of intent. There were some issues and concerns that developed over the course of this year, and it is in the best interest of both The University of Texas and Obie that he be allowed to pursue other opportunities.

Like we do with any of our current players when situations arise, we want to do our best to make sure that Obie has every opportunity possible to succeed in the future. We wish Obie the best."

He apparently had some off the court issues. Wait till you see Jordan Barnett next year though.

i'm not sure that's true. the only ones i can remember are a DB to LSU, one to tulane (who we may have cut loose) and a WR to oregon. aside from that sumlin did a decent job of keeping our class intact and adding a few.

Nahlin is just full of good news today isn't he?

It looks like we may hold on to Bonney, according to a teammate.

Also, Coach Strong, with Bedford and Rumph, payed an in-home visit to the parents of Arrion Springs today. If we can't get Harvey, Springs would be huge.
