Quote from the Rivals Louisville Moderator

2 - Aren't his coaches basically the ones he had at Louisville (the winning program)?  With the exception of Wickline?

Chambers stayed, Rumph came from Bama in a trade for Bo Davis and a draft pick to be named later and Tommy Robinson came from USC

Also Vaughn who came from Memphis
Also, Les Koenning from Mississippi State.

I realized I had not thought about it in that context but Watson was the only offensive coach CFS brought with him. . .interesting. .

I was a fan of Wyatt but he seriously overplayed his hand (per the story I heard from a great source) and his personality is likely too similar to CFS' which can lead to tension.   Certainly a better recruiter than Les but is/was he the teacher that Les is?

Chambers takes a great deal of flack but he is here to recruit not coach .. . . .and I'll wager he's the post 2014 change/re-assignment.

#1 - Is your first name actually Chuck?

Yes, echeese dates back to a birthday party my g/f at the time had for her son at Chuck E Cheese while I was in flight school. . .my fellow pilots had more fun than the kids .. . . . . .call sign stuck. . . my first division lead (I lead 2 sections of helos) we used Swiss and Cheddar instead of colors. . .

Well, it's a good thing you didn't go to Fuddruckers.

Sigh!  I missed this by a country mile.

#3 - I have heard the same as you about his evaluation abilities.  I consider this a good thing.  I mean a VERY good thing.

Looking forward to seeing this change the face of TEXAS football

I think you and all of us are going to be pleased with what we see.

#4 - Now, IMO, the game that will either haunt or vaunt Charlie Brown?  North Texas State.  We better look like the Seattle Seahawks playing Pearland High School or the anti-Strong contingent will be in full roar - and I'm including that old reprobate in SA.

And even if we DO look like Seattle, there will still be some dumba**es that will find fault with either the team, Strong or both.

After years of dealing with posters who's confirmation bias was so strong. . .nothing that happened on the field mattered. . .i am conviniced the same dumbasses grinding the axes of their agenda will do the same regardless of reality and what actually transpires. . .I will do what I always do. . . offer my opinion based on what I see on the field. . . . .some will like it. . .others will hate it but the view from the Cheap Seats is what it is. . . .kinda like Paul Harvey.  . .now for the rest of the story .. .

Pfft!  I am in an ongoing argument, with a few posters on IT, over the ability and value of Swoopes.  Seriously, there are some Heard lovers (who I love as well) that already want to anoint him as our starting QB - AS A SNOT NOSED FRESHMAN, if you can believe it.  It seems there are those that simply cannot learn from history - i.e., Gilbert, Ash, etc.

My contention is, if we can play Case McCoy as a backup, we damn sure can play Swoopes as one as well and let Heard redshirt.  At least Swoopes can throw a football further than 15 yds. and he can run.

The anti-Swoopes bunch (and some of them would love to see him fail just to prove a point) literally thinks he can't walk and chew gum.

Anyway, I digressed.  My point was I saw his spring game, like everyone else, and he sucked in the first half, no doubt.  But I have seen him excel as well, so I not ready to write him off like some biased posters are.

So, yeah, if Ash goes down and Swoopes comes in and goes into a melt down - then I would agree we have to do something else.  But, until then, I'm not writing him off.

If Heard is starting for us this fall, we're in deep caca...and it's not because I don't love his potential.

A true freshman manning the controls in the Big12?  Not a recipe for contending.  IMHO, Watson limited Swoopes running the ball this past spring in an effort to keep him healthy and improve his progressions in the passing game.  He's more capable of making plays with his legs if turned loose.

This is one reason I suspect we saw so many roll outs and waggles in the spring game. . .

Defenses will load the box to stop the run and one of the best ways to keep pressure off a young QB is to get them on the edge where they have a 1-2 read then take off and run. . .

Of course we hopefully will not be asking Ash to run much but Ash has the arm to beat loading the box. . . I just wonder about his timing. ..
