Quick Post Game Thoughts

After watching this abomination tonight I have one observation to make. Charlie Strong MUST go find him a good OC if he wants to succeed at Texas. Watson was awful tonight. They say a sign of insanity is to do something over and over expecting a different result. It was insane tonight. Run up the middle , run up the middle, and get stuffed time after time....AND THEN DO IT AGAIN !!!!! SMH

I'm no football expert, but I know as an offense goes, it must be balanced or the opposing defense will shut it down.  To see running backs the

caliber of Johnathan Gray and Malcolm Brown shut down like they were tonight...and they were...and those RBs are as good as they come...

you knew there would be no success for a passing attack.  All things considered, Swoopes didn't play too badly.  The patchwork OL protected

the pocket pretty well, allowing him time to throw.  But as to establishing running lanes for Gray and Brown...our guys got whipped all night.

No success running = minimal success passing. And UCLA, Baylor and OU await...with better defenses than BYU.  Get ready for a long

season...character test to see who's on board with Charlie and who is not.

UCLA holds on to beat Memphis 42-35. The only positive thing heading into next weekend's game is UCLA isn't playing all that well.

I completely agree with Mark. Ty HAS to find some fire inside him. Even though they are big men, they are boys who need a leader on the field. Someone to follow. He either needs to find this within himself or "fake it til you make it".

I don't understand the criticism of Swoopes. He had 3-4 dropped balls that would have him over 75% completion rate. Two deep balls one was caught and one overthrown. The kid did great. Even VY couldn't win with that piss poor playcalling unless he changed every play at the line of scrimmage.

Yep. The fact that we also don't have a running game due to the o-line also puts him in a bad position. I thought he looked pretty damn good for his first start. If that's the bottom end of what we expect to see from Swoopes, I have no clue why people are criticizing him.
