I'm initially very impressed with Herman. It sounds like he is well-respected and knows where he's going. Just as important, he has a plan to get there. Anyone can talk a good game, but very few can put one together. I read that he's a member of Mensa. The way he is putting this puzzle together, I don't doubt it.

It's also admirable that he's already evaluated the Texas staff and would like to retain several. You rarely see that.

How do you defend against the Spread....When you have the best man on man cover guys in the conference and the receivers cannot find any seperation and your defensive line controls the line of scrimmage ....you will beat that spread offense.

Longhorn Nation needed a reason to be optimistic and excited again about Longhorn Football.

I had pulled for Strong and I'm sorry things didn't work out for him at Texas. Now a change has

been made and it's time to move forward in proactive fashion.

I would be in favor of keeping Traylor and Jean-Marie and maybe Hailey... Gilbert would definitely be gone and he's attached at the hip with the OL coach, so... A lot left to do, but probably comes together really quickly.

I think recruiting will be ok. Herman is a good recruiter and I think he will hire a great staff. His hiring will be a big key. One big red flag for me with Charlie was the staff hiring and revolving door with position coaches. Bad management. I think Herman has a plan. Hope I'm right.

Maybe we can finally get better at recruiting the Houston area with Herman.  Don't mean to get biblical, but THAT STRONGHOLD MUST COME DOWN!!

Well this is it Huskie. One of the main big obstacles that Herman must do is to and I hate putting this in biblical terms but resurrect the program from bottom to top. It's going to be an eventful next couple of months just to see what happens

I know it's not UT news but just got off the phone with a colleague who told me that Malzahn isn't off the hot seat and many inside the Athletic Department are not happy with the way he has handled the QB situation and its cost them this season. The way this Iron Bowl is going he isn't helping his case. He could be let go before the bowl game.

Would be interested to see if Houston becomes a landing spot for him.
