Question for those "in the know".....

No disrespect to those coaches but Saban and Stoops are the only one with rings on fingers and Saban covers 4 out of 5. There will always be coaches that have better relationships than others in the state. Mack isn't liked by quite a few. Saban brings instant credibility.

First I've heard Mack isn't liked by the vast majority of Texas coaches. . .OTOH. . .Stoops has pretty much given up recruiting Texas and has so for years now. he has seriously pissed off some coaching staffs. .heck we're even landing inner city Dallas kids and that used to be an OU strong hold. . .

when I think of Saban and recruiting. . .I always think of the scene in blind side and chuckle. . .

OK...so under Saban, a player who is given an athletic scholarship and doesn't live up to his end of the bargain can lose that scholarship? You mean you actually have to show up and do the work? There is no free ride?
Thats nothing more than anyone of us are asked by our employers. We paid for guys like Brock Fitzhenry to do jack crap at this school. I have no problem with that gravy train ending.

Brock was injured. . .what I heard (vs herd) was they pretty much had to force him not to come to practice. . kid loved football . . .not unlike the big OL from westlake . ..perhaps another example would have been better. . .we've had a history of kids who have squandered talent not practiced nor gone to class. .

Fitzhenry had an injury his senior year and things kind of snowballed. My point (and I should have been more clear) was he was only offered as a coaches kid.

Westlake, if you are talking about Nader he didnt count against the limit. In any event, like you said, we have a history of that mess going on.

He is like by the vast majority but there are some that do not care for him. I played for one.

I had a friend that played for Royal.....If a coach does not want a player he doesn't have to cut him...he can make it sooooooo hard on a player that he will quit on his own.
