At the top of the board it says 72 users online. . .

But at the bottom is shows just me and a guest. . . .

Just curious.on a slow monday . .

Stuck in a room with just echeese and myself. Holy beat down Batman! I better get the fat outta here!

I see three members, one guest, and although I am not a mod, I am somewhat modern, at least the portions not Neanderthal and Sasquatch. ;)

The only answer that I can guess is that there are members on other forums or reading articles.  The bottom just tells who is in the forum.  The top tells who is online.

The forums are open to guests to view (you do not have to be a member to read, with the exception of Premium posts - which you must be a Premium member to read).  Just means that someone isn't "logged in" when viewing,.

I have noticed that too.  Over time, the numbers have always been as disparate as they are today.  Not that it really makes any difference. but I think that if the programmers looked into it, you would find that one of those numbers is not correct.  One counter or the other is not working ... again, not that it really matters.  And, in answer to Aaron, the bottom counter lists guests and anonymous users. so they should still be accounted for.

What do you have to do to get the post to which you're replying to show up in your reply ?

Not to butt in, but I'd like to know how to "reply to a quote" also. Have tried and failed several times.

I do that but it never shows up. It didn't this time either.

Same here. I hit Quote all the time to reply and the reply never shows up. And I have to hit post twice for my post to even show up.

I have tried the "Quote" thing several times, never worked for me.

Didn't this time, either.

it's becoming apparent that the mods have implemented something of a message board caste system and those of you unable to quote are the untouchables.

Oh, and i should add for Lukus...to understand the untouchables reference google 'India history', not Kevin Costner or Sean Connery.
