We are happy to have Chorn33 join the ranks of our community. For those that don't know him, he is the builder of fine BBQ pits under the name of Old Country BBQ Pits. Several of us have them, and he is great to work with. He makes pits sold under that name at Academy, as well as just about any custom pit you would want. He built Dillard's, (LHR,) pit that he pulls to the Texas Tailgate Company's tailgates at DKR.

He is also a great resource if you have questions about anything BBQ pit related. He is honest and will offer up insight on most other pits as he's been very involved in this business for quite some time and has seen about every kind of pit up close.

Welcome to HS Chad. Merry Christmas!

(And for the record, he's got a brisket and a ham on the pit as we speak!)

Welcome aboard.. Always good to have a BBQ expert on board too.
He definitely brings some good 'cue experience to the board.

Also, I can answer most questions with regards to the smoking process. Not saying I'm an expert by any means, but it's a definite passion of mine.

Here are the bacon-wrapped turkey legs that are on the pit right now.

Mike, my rule of thumb is at bacon makes everything better!!

Does he build the pits for you or do you have to buy somewhere else?
The majority of his work is sold at Academy Sports stores. I have the All American. Academy - Smokers

The prices for pits at Academy start at $199.99 for a very basic entry model. They go up to ~$1500. There is a variance in materials used between the base model and their higher end models, but for the money, there's not a better smoker on the market IMHO.

He does have build some custom pits, BBQ smokers from Old Country BBQ Pits - barbeque smokers

Check them out. He has some killer pits on his site. I'd love to have one of his mobile units. That's my next step.
