Please no respectable team D1 team

I wasn't serious about turning down a bowl invite, but totally serious about the rest. We suck and any GOOD team ...hell...even Aggy will kill us. We might be able to play with Iowa...They have GDGD.
You keep saying this but you obviously haven't watched A&M play the past 7 to 8 weeks. A&M would be a great matchup. We wouldn't even have to use Swoopes. See Missouri and LSU the past 2 weeks. Aggy isn't "killing" anybody with that defense (just see ULM).

Feel free to discuss the points in the original post, but leave out comments about the poster. No need for personal commentary.

Logic would say that the aggies are a perfect match up for us. Teams that give us problems have a good defense and a decent offense. Why? because our offense is our defenses worst problem. You can't turn the ball over as many times as we did and also not be able to sustain drives on offense and expect even a really good defense, like we do have, to hold serve against a good offense.

The aggies, have an OK offense and a horrible defense. While it would not be a thing of beauty, we nost certainly not get blown out by them. Our offense generally does just enough to keep our defense rested in games like that.

GBT, you sound like a passionate fan that just does not know how to handle a bad loss like this. I get it, but honestly nothing in your OP has really any sound logic to it. However we all have different perspectives.

There sure was a ton of purple in the stadium last night. Looks like a bunch of "fans" didn't even think enough of this team to even show up. Sold or gave away their tickets to TCU fans. My six tickets didn't go to TCU fans.

Where were you at 6:30 pm last night ?

GBT, I don't think any here are questioning your passion as a fan, I know I certainly don't. However we are also passionate fans and quite obviously don't agree with what many of us see as an attack on a team that we are passionate about.

As mentioned above, I see zero logic in your OP, that is my opinion on the matter. There is no way that, not going to a bowl, can be good. Being scare to play a good team? That is worse than getting beat by a good team. Just look at the flack the aggies caught on a national scale after it came out the SEC did not want them to play us!! And of all things to be scared of the aggies, who in no way, are a team to be scared of, I find ridiculous.

Sometimes after a very ugly loss the passion gets to us and we all react differernt. IMHO, you are way over-reacting.

However I will say this. A lot of times with fans that tend to always seem to be "glass half empty" type of guys run away when the team is doing good. I have not seen that from you. I have seen you come on here and support the team and your point of view. So I will never question you fanhood.

In the end we all love our Longhorns.

Probably about time to lock this thread, I think it has served its purpose.

I think the points in the original post resembled a yeast infection. And that in no way is a comment about the poster.

You have such a way with words . . .

not to mention, aggy and their overlords in the SEC don't think much of their chances.

The last thing we need is a good opponent in our bowl game....er..... can we turn down a bowl invite ? That could be best.

Please God, not A&M. They would kill us. As we suffer through the last few years and the next two it appears....we at least have SCOREBOARD on Aggy. I don't even want any power conference team for that matter other than maybe Michigan. That's it...we need Michigan...(.another team that has a storied history but stinks right now). Are they bowl eligible ???...No....

Maybe Texas State. ?????

You might say we are an improving team that just ran into a good TCU team.....WRONG

Yes, TCU is good, but that is why they beat us by 38. Good teams do that to bad teams with bad QB play. Look what good teams have done to us all season, and look at the records of the team we beat. You might point to WVU ( beat BU and played with TCU ) ...I say, " A blind hog finds an acorn every now and then."

Did you notice Watson went to the run game ( that wasn't working ) and throwing swing passes to backs, because he knew Swoopes couldn't handle a defense that actually played defense.

Even I was fooled into thinking we MIGHT be an improving team to the extent that I actually left my grandkids ( 2yr old and 5 month old ), and hauled my wife to Austin last night. At halftime we left, and watched the last qtr at home with the little ones. First game I ever left in all my years....I even stayed through 66-3.
"Look what good teams have done to us all season, and look at the records of the team we beat"

This is the part of the OP's post that no one can argue with. Right?

And another thing. I don't understand 'lock/delete this thread' guy. If you're uncomfortable don't read. It's easy.
Has nothing to do with being uncomfortable, it has to do when people start being narrow minded and just calling out each other. Been posting in this thread from the beginning. Calling each outher out, serves no purpose other than to show one's own ignorance. There are forums that are great if you like to do nothing but call outs and name calling.

Things get heated.  It happens.  Everyone has their own opinions.

Some people here want a better performance from Texas and QB position.

Some people would rather make excuses for Swoopes.  Some are very valid points, ie OL, thrust into action too early etc.  Some are just hopeful bliss.

Im with you, this would be boring if people are discouraged to express their views.

It makes you wonder why Strong can says its unacceptable to play like that vs TCU but some fans on here can say it is OK and to be expected (Swoopes).  I guess they know more about football than Charlie does.

Its OK for Charlie to be screaming at Swoopes as he walking off the field after his fumble TD but its not OK for fans to express their displeasure without being attacked?

Go find another team. You won't be missed.
Like this comment.  Seriously, why would you say that.  No need to bash him.  If you disagree just say so, no need to discourage a fan from posting his view.  He has as much right as you do.
