Players leaving early

hearing RB Malcolm Brown & DE Cedric Reed are leaning that way.
Can't tell yet. The new coach will have something to do with who may leave early. If it were me, I wouldn't come back unless it looked like we would be competitive and not just mediocre. The new coach will have a lot to do with the decision along with the projection of their draft status. I would hate to lose Malcolm but if he gets a high draft grade he may be gone

MB is the best offensive player we have coming back...we need to hire a coach that will utilize him properly or he may leave...

I can understand both these guys leaving early but, IMO I don't believe either are ready. MB isn't even in good enough shape to play 75% of the snaps. Both these guys under a new S&C coach and new system should only help their draft stock. Neither is a 4th round or higher pick right now.

The new coach may get both to stay. Would not be shocked at all and doubt anyone is making that decision until they know what the new staff is

I did not say they were leaving. I said as of right now they're leaning that way. yes the right coach will make the difference.

Won't be a popular post but and I'm certainly aware of how thin the horns are at RB but if I'm Malcolm and my grade is right, I'm gone. He's toted the rock enough in a Texas uniform. RBs don't have a long shelf life. Time to go make some money.

I respectfully disagree. He has not carried the ball that much for UT.

I'm not worried about it. I don't want them to, but if they feel like that's what they want, then so be it.

I think Reed will leave, but I bet Brown is back next season. Have to get the right hire though, obviously.

I wouldn't blame Brown if he left, but it all comes down to combine scores. He'll continue to split carries here and he'll run the risk of injury (see Jonathan Gray). If scouts think he'll do well in combine, you can't blame him for leaving as opposed to being an experiment in a new coach's offense.
