Petrino is a good choice for them. I read on the Lousiville247 site that they are going to put a huge buyout on his contract so he won't bail on them the first chance he gets. He impressed me with his coaching at Arkansas and had them ready to make a run at the big boys in the SEC. I'm glad that Jurich is giving him another chance. I hope Petrino has learned his lessons and that he doesn't do anything that makes Jurich sorry for hiring him. The Strong/Petrino debate is something we will have for as long as both are coaching at Texas and Louisville. I am not going to bash anyone for saying they would rather have Petrino. I don't think he would ever be considered for the Texas job though and I would rather have a defensive minded coach than a offensive minded coach.

I wouldn't touch that trade. Petrino's a good offensive coach, but putting it nicely, he's ethically-challenged and prone to self-destruction. I guess if you're Jurich, you've gotta do what you've gotta do to get a new coach, but Petrino is no step up from Strong. I'm like a poster above...Petrino treated that school like something you drag in on the bottom of your shoe...I'm surprised that the 'Ville is so quick to forgive and forget. They'd better hide the women staffers and keep him away from the Harley dealership.
