Pelini Fired

Per the University and Director of Athletics he has been dismissed, effective immediately. Press conference at 1:00 pm...

Not a huge shock. They have high expectations, that will most likely never meet again.

His personality most certainly did not do him any favors.

Odds that somewhere Pelini is yelling at someone right now? ? ?

A lot of coaches going to get raises and extensions with Florida, Nebraska, and probably Michigan jobs open.....

Lets be honest about this. Nebraska cut off its pipeline to the south when it moved to the Big 10. Its natural recruiting base produces about 10 legit athletes a year and they arent getting any of them.

They are trying to play in areas LONG dominated by Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Michigan State. Each one is and has been a more attractive place to live and play than Lincoln.

They cant really do better than what they had. Corn Aggy gonna Corn Aggy.

Whisenant, so true. You just gotta laugh.

Nebraska knew the formula they had and when they lost it. Tom Osborne has hated us since that very day (ending partial qualifiers). Beating them in that championship game didn't do it. Beating them in Lincoln didn't do it. The lasting hate comes from the knowledge of knowing you can point the finger at the one you know cost you your program. Everything else was just a pile on. lol

That may be just part of it. Years ago I read an article, I think it was in Sports Illustrated, regarding comments from UCLA players after playing Nebraska. The first time they played, UCLA lost, the next time they played UCLA won. The UCLA players commented on when they lost, Nebraska was just too strong and physical of a team. It was like men playing against boys. The next game, they said Nebraska just wasn't that strong or physical. What was the difference? The NCAA started testing for steroids.

There is a positive in this for ol' Bo... he will have time now to enroll and take the Dale Carnegie course he has been procrastinating on. You know the course: How to Win friends and Influence People. He will also not have to worry about Mack Brown or Texas beating UN again while he is HC!
