I'll try to make this short...

Nice to see you guys not killing each other after last night. You guys have built something good here, don't tear it down over this. The little guy never gets the credit he deserves, yet gets killed when he's wrong or not 100% on the money. I know.

Personally, I don't like the hire, but he's not my coach... not sure he's your coach at the present time. Patterson does look weak, and if the can be pressured now, will anything else change?

Even if you didn't land Saban or Fisher, I like any of the others much better. Again, not my call.

But you guys keep up the good work and reporting. You know I talk and promote you guys on twitter all the time... and that won't stop.

I love the hire. Saban and Fisher have more flash but hopefully they were asked and then said no and we moved to the next guy. Who else is better as a coach? Not Briles, not Mora, not Franklin.

Everybody has positives and negatives. I think Strong with the right OC will do great.

Thanks Deuce, but like I've told everyone else, NO ONE knows what Patterson is doing. The whole leak biz proves it, because some BMD is trying to sabotage it.

I think Patterson is going to own this hire, and kill it on the field in the process.

Honestly I was never sold on Saban as a fit at Texas in the Big 12 where spread is king and at his age. It would have been a hell of a splash and Texas would have surely had a major culture shock which is needed. However I would have been very happy after saying that.

Fisher / Harbaugh was my first/second choice and had hoped we would get. Fisher, because he has defended all types of offenses and knows how to build a dominant team. Harbaugh because of the X and Os and still brought a splash.

Strong was my 3rd choice actually mainly because I believe he is a true football coach as opposed to a CEO type.

The process, mainly because of the media, has been embarrassing, starting with how the Mack Brown situation went down. It is apparent that we have no clue and are out of practice going through this.

Good comment! He will need to hire the best OC he can find and let the guy do his thing. If he wins, he will have to repeat the process of finding a great OC every 2-3 years because other teams will look at UT OC/DC's to promote to HC like it was with DC's in the good years at Texas with Mack. I will be happy if we are in a posistion again to worry about other teams raiding our assistants because that will mean we are back at the top again.
