Has anyone used a tour guide in Italy? If so, which company did you use?

Looking into taking a vacation alone in late spring. Would like to visit Rome and then Southern Italian Coast. Thinking 10 days.

I can suggest places to go. Have been going to Italy the past 20 years for work.

Used QueensLander tours. They book in small groups,up to 16. 5 of us from Austin went and were placed with 3 other couples. Check out their website. Really great people.

American Express Tours - Italy are fantastic.

Yes, please do! I'm a foodie so restaurant recommendations would be awesome. And good hotels as well.

Rome, and any cities along the Southern Italian Coast. Would love to fit in Capri as well.

You don't really need a tour guide unless you just want one. I've been to Italy numerous times and never had a problem getting around. People are quite friendly and wish to be helpful.

Capri is a wonderful place to visit, especially if you can spend at least one night there. The tour boats leave in the late afternoon and then you have the island to yourself and the natives. It's a very magical experience.

We used Sorrento as a base. It's on the Bay of Naples and an easy drive from Rome. From there you can ferry to Capri and Naples (I strongly suggest not staying in Naples, but instead just doing a day trip there). You can also drive to Pompeii, Positano, Amalfi, Herculeneum, and Paestum (a very underrated Greek ruins site) for easy day trips to minimize the number of times you have to change hotels.

I would volunteer to accompany you as tour guide, but my wife would undoubtedly object.

I own a travel agency and would love to help you. Been at this for over 30 years. I've been there many times myself. Marla@creativecruisesandtours.com

Love it! Funny. We took the train on our last visit. Been lost many times before.

Marla Darling,

YOU can become the Travel Sponsor on Hornsports.

You have my guarantee you will prosper from our relationship.

Have to wait on a few things before doing that, but thinking about it. Have no idea the costs? Right now some obligations are taking 1st priority like a daughter and granddaughter needing help!

LOL...Bring along your wife and I'll just tag along! :) Only reason why I want to join a tour guide was the travel logistics. I hate driving so being in a foreign country with a rental car seems very overwhelming. Would you recommend Sicily?
