Glad to hear it! At least you have a little part of Texas with you there in the NW.

Just refresh the compost a little each year, should be good.

 
I have a big mealy bug invasion around my yard. Little beggers are even thick on the hackberrys behind my fence. They can have those, but they are getting on my lemon tree and starting on my tomatoes. I want to go Kizer Soze on them. What is the best plan?

You had it right. You go Kizer Soze on them. lol

You can smother them with an oil spray or use something like Ortho's Fruit & Vegetable Insect Killer. With the Ortho product, the plant ingests the product so when the bugs eat on the plant, it kills them. It is safe for fruit and vegetable uses, hence the specificity in the name.
