MB has done a lot of good things at Texas but in my eyes the things MB has done the last few days has damage his good name forever. I would never in a million years thought that MB would try to block a coach from getting hired. MB has put himself above The University Of Texas and no one dose that to Texas. He is no longer revered buy the fans as a great man. He shot that all to hell in a handbag when he tried to put a power move keeping Saban from coming to Texas.

We all talk about what a great coach MB is but just as yourself how good was he. MB has 2 Big 12 titles and 1 National titles:. I know we have enjoyed some big wins over USC, Ohio State and Michigan. How many time have we been in a situation to win a Big 12 title only to get out coached are the team was flat. How many times did OU just beat us up on the football field nothing makes me sicker that watching that. Then stoops on the sideline laughing at our players. We are Texas and getting laughed at because we are soft should not ever happen the The University Of Texas. With all the talent we have and can get at Texas and we can only hang out Texas Longhorn cap on 2 Big 12 titles and 1 MNC. Folks watching. In 16 years Mack should have had some more than 2 Big 12 titles and at least 1 are 2 MNC titles.

I guess what I am saying is all the wins are nice but you are judged buy the skins hanging on the wall and in that area we are lacking. Not that what I say matters but as a fan who has been watching Texas Longhorns since 1957 it's time for MB to give it up and move out of Austin. My friends y'all have a great week.

He can't vanish fast enough for me...have not been a MB fan in a long time. He's now proving to be what I always thought he was...a selfish prick.

I can't say that I disagree with any of that.

My hope is that we can look back at this mess in two or three years and laugh at all of this. If not, then Mack's legacy is in serious jeopordy.

It's really hard for me to look at Mack and not think of him as a classic example of pride/ego/vanity undermining a legacy. Greatness requires not only great achievement but the self-awareness to recognize when one's time has passed, and the humility to put larger interests ahead of one's own.

If even a fraction of the inside stories are accurate, Mack is a striking example of someone who seems to project a very different public image from who he really is at core. He's practically a character from a Greek tragedy at this point.

What has disappointed me most about Mack recently is he allowed his big money cronies to throw Case under the bus and hasn't come to his defense. All about the kids, huh Mack?

I'm thinking the only way that happens is if we're still able to get a big HC hire such as Saban or Fisher, and this lawsuit thing never happens.

Jim you are spot on buddy-and there are thousands that think just like you. Mack lasted as long as he did because he is a much better politician than he is a coach. He was able to able to convince people that 10 win seasons were a laudable goal rather than a conference title. Those seasons are nice but without a conference title and a chance to play for a natty they ring a little hollow. Imo he should have played in the title game at least 2 more times.

I am sure some of you guys own a business. What would you do if an employee thinks that the only way the company can run is if he stays at the head. The thing with MB is how many more 1 year jobs can you promise a man. The wheels have been coming off the train for the last 3 are 4 years and many of us supported MB through the bad times. Longhorn fans knew something was going on when they scan the BMD boxes and seen the lights were off. Fans setting in the parking lot parting well into the game. Why because the product that MB was putting on the field wasn't fun to watch. That is no knock on the kids they are doing what they are told. They chose to come to Texas and play for the best but right now Texas isn't keeping up it's end of the partnership poor coaching. Yes football is a partnership football players playing hard and taking direction from the coaching staff. But the players are losing faith in the coaching staff especially MB when they see him acting like he has been the last few weeks.. My friends y'all have a great week.
